This Week: Asteroid Mining
Description
With all this talk of mining asteroids to get fuel from water, we want to show you a cool little experiment that’ll make you realize how easy this can be.
Plus, it has a lot of practical applications. In this experiment, we’re going to hydrolyze water into hydrogen and oxygen! You don’t even need high-tech equipment. All you need are a few simple products that you can get at the electronics store.
We hope this gets you thinking about how you might harness the sun’s energy into a fuel that we could use later (like when the sun isn’t shining). Plus, the when you burn this fuel, all the exhaust you’d produce is water!
