Catch up with last year’s One Idea for Learning winners

Last summer we conducted the One Idea for Learning contest, inviting teachers to share their ideas for how to use technology in the classroom for better teaching and learning. The submissions that we received were creative and touching.

Blogging in the classroom

We had an opportunity to catch up with our first-place winner, Libby Brien, to see how effective her idea for using iPads for reciprocal reading and blogging was in her classroom.

More classroom insight to come

We are thrilled that Libby has agreed to be a guest blogger for OLE. Libby will be writing a weekly post, where she’ll share her tips for how to use technology in the classroom for better teaching and learning in the 21st century. Welcome to the OLE family, Libby!

Colleen DeFoyd and Beth Perry create lifelong memories with their Family Writing Workshop

Out of many inspirational and creative submissions, Colleen DeFoyd and Beth Perry were selected as our second-place winners, receiving $2,000 to help fund their Family Writing Workshop. We had a chance to catch up with them to see how their idea for using technology to help bring families together to create their own family stories worked out in their classroom this year.

Colleen and Beth’s passion for education and their passion for bringing families together by creating authentic learning experiences is inspiring to us all. We are thrilled to have been able to support such a wonderful teaching moment
