This Week: Wild About Cabbage
Description
Did you know that broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and collared greens are all cultivars, selected from the same species, Brassica oleracea, a wild cabbage? Turns out the ancestor to these modern cultivars grew along the Mediterranean.
Naturally, the Untamed Science crew thought it would be a perfect place to start a bike ride across Europe. In this episode, the crew rides the first leg of their journey and explains why we get so many varieties of the same plant.
